Got some new shoes from FiveTen, they might resemble the classic VXi, and in many ways they do, there is however a big difference; they use a brand new rubber compound; Mi6 rubber, according to FiveTen its their most grippy rubber yet, with empiric data to back that up. I'm doing a preview soon(ish) so stay tuned..

Curious to see what you have to say about the 5.10. Freerider elements right ?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind a pair of those, but some review on CRC says the Mi6 rubber's wearing out pretty quickly with flats' pins.
But I'm curious to see what you have to say about the slick part of the sole, as the 5.10 + long pins combo is ace, if not too grippy.
I don't like what seems to be a price hike though, 115, 135 or 165€ for the various new models ? The "old" impact high were tanks and didn't cost more than 120€ AFAIK.
I wonder if bike companies are not trying too hard to milk the cow. TLD A1 helmet had some huge discount when it came out, and POC released a "light" Crane helmet.
Hi Will.
ReplyDeleteYup its the element version. I havent tested the shoe that much..yet, but I will cautiosly say that they indeed DO wear faster.. : /
They are grippy tho, and Ill have to agree with you on the pricing, this price hike has to stop. Ill have a preview up soon.
