Random stuff - IXS 2014 Part 2/3
More IXS bike festival stuff:
The IXS slopestyle contest was ridden on last years Red Bull Bergline. Huge doubles, stepups, a massive wallride, and a huge drop at the beginning.
Henning bought a pair of pedals here, but I got all the attention : )

There it is, rare and elusive, the sickest trailbike in the world; Evil Uprising. (Note the bigger brother hanging in the background)

Carbocage going all in on carbon, Drea bought a taco for his Spitfire. The owner of the company was the actual seller this day.

Random stuff - IXS 2014 Part 1/3
Lots of gear, lots of beer, and lots of girls as well, here is what we saw at the IXS bike festival.
More to come in Part 2.
YT goes carbon with this AM bike, called Capra. This BOS specced bike has incredible value for money. It looked hot as well.

With beers this size, things go downhill, fast..

Good luck adjusting the seatpost mid-ride..

Henning bought a pair of pedals and haggled down the price by offering beer to the sellers. That tactic worked just fine.

Of all the DH/Freeride bikes we saw, this Banshee has to be the one that looked the most fun to ride, I bet it friggin rips in a bikepark in this setup.

Bike? What bike? All I see is the Ohlins rear shock...

2014 IXS Dirtmasters - Video
Winterberg, Germany, just had a bike festival which we attended. There was lots of booths full of gear to buy or inspect, bikes, but the festival also hosted a DH race, a slopestyle contest and even a whip-off. I shot some high-speed footage during the slopestyle contest, so sit back an enjoy some mad skills:
1m 47sec, with sound. 240FPS

The Skull Drop
The Skull Drop is definitely standing in the shadows of the Mr. Madsens Bad Idea-drop. It is however just as tall; we are in the 2m+ (6.5+ feet) realm with this drop. The Skull Drop is part of the main line "Split", where a line splits into 3, all offering different features.
Ok so this drop has actually existed for some time, but just recently guinea-piggeg. The drop-in is fine, the landing is surprisingly smooth, the exit will feature a huge table-like jump, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. Good times.
The skull drop. Commit or Die. (Well not really, its actually quite forgiving)
Drea inspecting, before initial hit. Landing outlined.

Canadian XC ?
Stepping it up.
Drea and I had the opportunity to session (and guinea-pig) the new Mr.Madsens Bad Idea-drop. Im not quite sure how big it is, but its on the bigger side of things around these parts, the landing is to the far right on this pic. This trail feature made me think; is this toe-dpping into actual freeride? Is it still in the realms of AM? Or is it simply canadian xc?
I for one have no idea, but I sure enjoy my trail time these days : )
